This publication is a “cover” of
one of the most important “Artists’ Books” of the post-war period, and this edition is the first version of whatever else something like this might be/become. It is a dialogue with artists and art history across ages and generations; and associates with diverse avant-garde movements, including Fluxus, Dada, Nouveau Réalisme, postinternet art, DIY zines, & so on and on.
As in the original, Phillips one day mapped the objects on their studio table, including a description of each. These objects evoked associations, memories, and anecdotes; and a beguliling (re)creation was grown.
